This course explored how gentle rocking and rolling techniques using Sensaballs can:

  • Release superficial and deep fascial restrictions
  • Improve proprioception and body awareness
  • Downregulate the nervous system
  • Restore more efficient movement patterns

What stood out most?

After wrapping up my final exams for my CCB certification, I’d just gotten around to revising my notes from the workshop when a pleasant surprise came in the form of my Certificates of Completion from the Carolyne Anthony Method. I’d taken the course mainly as a pre-requisite for the Pre & Post Natal training later this month, and was concerned it would be too much for my already strained bandwidth but the knowledge has been really helpful even just for my own personal practice and training. Suffice to say, I’m excited to integrate this more in my teaching.

In a nutshell,

  • Myofascial release = manual therapy aimed at releasing tension in muscles and fascia
  • Particularly involves applying gentle pressure to stretch tight fascia 
  • Benefits can include improved circulation, enhanced mobility, reduced pain

In using small, unassuming and gentle tools like the Sensaball in subtle, intelligent and precise ways to create deep and powerful release, it was a nice reminder that something doesn’t have to be aggressive to be effective.
